This individual is a hard working member of the community who in October 2020 resigned from the company he’d been with for over a decade. In order to spend more time with his family and work in a healthier environment. Since starting a job at a local library, he’s organized a club for teens and has been a listening ear and a helping hand for many patrons, young and old. The family has spent the first decade moving from rental to rental before purchasing their forever home. They’re blessed with a working house but the roof is in bad shape. The family truly adores their home and have worked hard to make it a safe place. A new roof and the help of trusted professionals would mean a great deal to this family.
This individual is 76 and retired about two years ago, but her husband died last year from complications with cancer. She was married for over 50 years and her income has dropped significantly and she does not have any retirement pension because of health and other financial difficulties. Additionally, they have helped other family members and used their retirement savings and that money was never replenished. The pain and suffering of losing her husband has been difficult, but now her financial situation has put her in a position of not having extra money to save to do repairs. She was a healthcare worker for 30 plus years as well and is truly a giving and caring individual who is the most deserving. She deals with Vertigo quite often and these episodes come and go very unexpectedly. Her son currently lives with her for which helps. Thank you for your time and consideration.
I would like to nominate my neighbor for a new roof. She is a single lady who tries very hard to keep up with her house. She is a caregiver and consistently stays at clients house to ensure they are always taken care of. She recently lost her mom which has been hard on her. Her father is in his late 80s and she keeps close tabs on keeping him always cared for. There has been times for which she has taken me to the hospital for surgeries. She currently lives in a house that is over a hundred years old. I see all the time she’s always fixing something, even getting up on her roof. I worry she is going to injure herself trying to patch up the house alone. Please come to her rescue.
This individual is a daughter, friend, granddaughter and she works full time to support her two year old and a fiance that has narcolepsy with cataplexy. He isn’t able to work or do handy work for the home with the energy it exerts, causing him to pass out. She works full time to provide for them and has had a hard time keeping up with the needs of the house. They purchased this starter home two years ago with a flat roof above the garage that leaks with double layering. She has worked so hard to provide for the two of them as her fiance’s illness was very quick and has burdened them financially, paying for hospital bills and trying to keep their home.
A 100+ year old home owned by a full-time (plus overtime) working mom of two boys 8 and 12. There is never any money left to repair or better the property after bills and needs are paid for. This individual has had to rebuild her life on multiple occasions; home-loss after the landlord sold off home, moving to take care of an eldery family member across the world, and then back again for the U.S.; a messy divorce. And working through nursing school and being a role model for her two boys.
This individual is such a dedicated and supportive member of our great community. You’ll always find this person with a smile on her face and an encouraging comment. She exudes kindness in everything she does. She shows ongoing leadership and dedication to her coworkers, having been a support staff within the real estate world for over 20 years. So many realtors, vendors and clients appreciate her hard work and dedication. She has volunteered for many organizations including Sleep in Heavenly Peace, giving kids without beds a bed to sleep on at night. She is truly a community role model and deserves this amazing gift. She has truly inspired me and many others to become better members of our community by her actions and selflessness. She’s absolutely in need of this gift and I’d love to see her win this year.
This individual is a widow living on a fixed income. She barely has enough money to buy groceries for the month. She is such a caring and giving person. It’s really sad to see her living with her roof in horrible condition as it is. When it rains she has containers sitting throughout the house to catch the drips. Please consider this individual as the winner for a new roof. She is disabled, lives alone and doesn’t have a family that can help her.
This woman is a single mother who has had the responsibility of raising two children mostly by herself for close to 30 years. Her oldest child was born with Spina Bifida and has been paralyzed from the waist down her entire life. Even though the mother doesn’t have a high education level, both her children graduated from college. She’s had to limit her work hours in order to take care of her child. The physical strain of taking care of them has caused neck/spine problems which has been costly just to try and reduce her pain level. Recently she qualified for medical financial assistance and was approved to have the surgery for her neck/spine issues shes needed for the 9 years that I’ve known her. Her first priority has always been to provide a home for her children and making sure they have what they need. Taking care of someone with disabilities is not cheap and unfortunately there isn’t enough support out there, especially for when they become adults. Her house needs help. She was able to complete the surgery a few weeks ago but for this she will not be able to work for a while. So, what little extra she has, will need to be used to pay her bills for the upcoming months. Therefore, seeing your commercial was like seeing a needed blessing, one that she really needs. Thank you for taking the time to read my request and possibly considering her need for a new roof.
Her roof is in great disrepair, she is on fixed income and has always been ready to help others. She has lived in Twin for 30 plus years. A single mom of two boys and no education, she has worked in the community for decades. She is a wonderful giving person and deserves a helping hand.
These wonderful individuals have four children. Nine years ago as one of their youngest was about to start high school, a friend of theirs had adopted a boy from China. They decided right then that they had more love to give and began the adoption process to adopt a young boy. The paperwork and process to get their new child was coming along great when… they got a phone call. There was another boy who had been previously adopted and he was in desperate need of a home. Two days later, they brought that child home. They opened their home and hearts to a young boy who had never known a home or family. They loved him and welcomed him with his challenges head on… and the challenges were great. He had a birth defect which made his left arm small and misshapen. He also faced years of attachment therapy teaching him to love and trust. However, they weren’t giving up on him even though their other adopted child had come to them as a surprise. They made many sacrifices, financially and emotionally to love these two boys and give them everything they needed. Many things (such as a new roof) were put on hold, as their resources were stretched and used to pay for therapy, surgeries, to help these young boys heal and be happy. And happy those boys were. One graduated high school and the other was an honor student. The last year has been a tough one for the family. In December 2020, the father and two of their sons went on a four day hunting trip with a group of friends. On their return home, while attempting to cross a narrow Dam, their truck hit ice, was sucked into a sand pile, swatted up against a rock wall and catapulted over the dam to fall 220 feet to the bottom. The force of the crash was so violent, one of the sons who was wearing a seat belt was thrown from the vehicle and died on impact. The father remained trapped in the truck at the bottom-alive, lucid and coherent for 3 ½ hours. Although paramedics and search and rescue did everything possible, the father succumbed to his injuries at the scene. We were blessed by the other son that was riding in a separate vehicle just ahead of them. He was at the tragic scene where he lost his brother and the best dad ever. The father was the sole financial provider for the family, a responsibility that has now landed on the mother’s shoulders. She has returned to school and is working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. She is strong and courageous and has faced this great tragedy with grace. But, she also has tough moments, and she needs a new roof. Wouldn’t it be great if something good could happen to this family? Wouldn't it be amazing if a rung in her ladder could be placed and her footing braced so she could feel our support and love as she continuous to climb out of her deep and dark hole?
